Proposed Timetable for 1st Event, Friday, 9th Sept 2011
Time | Activity |
12.30 pm | - Go to the site |
1.00 pm | - Set up glulam structure + scott’s cable + Jin’s rope (Attach the hinges, connect the arches, put on supporting metal cables and ropes) * Safety harness and appropriate clothing will be necessary (anti slip mat may be required) - Set up sound and lighting systems * Safety of the public need to be taken care of (staircase will be heavily used during installments) - Assemble the plastics sheet into one “blanket” * Plastics sheets first needs to be merged with each other - 4 sheets combine into 1, using cable ties/ fishing wire weaving?) |
3.00 pm | - Put on the plastics “blanket” onto the glulam structure and secure it |
4.30 pm | - Final check and clean up the mess (Hinges connections, clean up staircase for any possible hazards, sound and lighting systems) |
5.00 pm | - 1st event officially starts |
8.30 pm | - Start packing up; 1). Nets, sound and lighting systems 2). Ropes 3). Disassemble the glulam structure + supporting metal cables 4). Pack everything up and store it in the container 5). Final check on all the equipment (make sure nothing is missing) 6). Lock the container. |
* All these processes will be recorded for design 4 documentation.

Event Lighting 1:1 scale
By using 3 LED lights, we were able to light up the whole form.
As the wind blows the form, the fabric will ripple and create an everchanging light effect.
We were trying to replicate the feeling of being underwater, and how the surface of the water (from underwater) distorts images from above.
The lights from above are strong enough to light the whole object and creates a laser effect at the bottom.
